To the Editors:
I find that I have misled your readers in stating that only one of the studies in Professor Held's book has never been published before ["Rembrandt Now," NYR, March 12]. In fact two of them are entirely new and he has revised most of the others. The late Professor Valentiner, by the way, was called Wilhelm Reinhold, not Rudolf. He is not to be confused—as a correspondent has pointed out—with Rudolfo Valentino.
