Bacon in America

By Edward J. Collins

In response to Bacon's Magic* (February 29, 1968)

To the Editors:

Your readers must again be indebted to Frances Yates this time for her very fine review of Paolo Rossi's Francis Bacon: From Magic to Science [NYR, Feb. 29]. She and her colleague at the Warburg Institute, D. P. Walker, have themselves done much to reveal important current renaissance of thought, and their perceptive reviews in your pages have been at once admirable and helpful. American readers will be happy to know that Rossi's book is published in the United States by the University of Chicago Press.
