Tempest in a Teapot

By Mimi Goldberg

In response to Mixed Company* (April 8, 1965)

To the Editors:

Robert Mazzocco, in his April 8 review of six new volumes of poetry forgot to keep himself respectfully in the background. The variety of his slaughter was admirable if his motives were questionable, and his taste in, for instance, pointing out that one of the volumes was privately printed reveals a choler unscholarly. Even his few crumbs of praise were so buried in the mass destruction, no book seemed worth the effort he expended.

A poem from you, Mr. Mazzocco, one poem?
