I am appalled by the publication of John Phillips' coarse vulgarity in his review of a book about General Patton…

[You] should be most severely censured for [your] lack of discrimination in the permitted use of obscenity—used, as the lowest and most ignorant use it, merely as stupid substitutes for more thoughtful expression…
