In response to Grub Street: New York (February 1, 1963)
To the Editors:
You say in the note entitled, To the Reader, "Readers are invited to submit their comments " and, although generally I don't, I now find myself so included. Is this how all of us idiots begin? All right.
What I thought about your publication was that better than 95% of the contributors wrote marvelous pieces; Barbara Probst Solomon was just plain awful; the thing on Feiffer unnecessary and Elizabeth Hardwick's "Grub Street: New York," the best.
Let me know if I should send money, I mean for a subscription. I don't have the other kind.
