In response to Seven Years in the Life (January 11, 2001)

In Geoffrey O'Brien's essay "Seven Years in the Life" [NYR, January 11], Ringo, not John, should have been identified as the oldest Beatle; also, Ringo joined the band not during its Hamburg period, as stated in the article, but after its return to Liverpool, in 1962.
