Irving Howe Memorial Lecture

The eighth annual Irving Howe Memorial Lecture will be delivered by the Israeli novelist A.B. Yehoshua, whose books include Mr. Mani and A Journey to the End of the Millennium. It will take place at 6 PM on Wednesday, November 19, in the Proshansky Auditorium of the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue (at 34th Street). The subject is "The Root of Anti-Semitism." There will be a response by Elisheva Carlebach, professor of history at Queens College and the Graduate Center. These lectures, sponsored by the Center for the Humanities, honor the late critic, editor, and political writer Irving Howe, who taught at the City University of New York from 1963 to 1986.
