It Was Yang Mo

In my review "In China's Gulag" [NYR, August 10] I mistakenly wrote that the mother of the author Ma Bo was the novelist Mo Yan. Ma Bo's mother is in fact the novelist Yang Mo. My apologies to those concerned.
