In response to:

The Ideal Husband from the February 24, 2005 issue

We regret the following errors:

In Benjamin Kunkel’s review of D.H. Lawrence’s The Lost Girl [NYR, February 24], the word id, which corresponds to Lawrence’s notion of IT, should have been identified as Latin, not German (p. 28). Id was used by Freud’s translators for es, the German word for “it.”

In Luc Sante’s essay on Bob Dylan [NYR, March 10], the title of the song from Dylan’s Basement Tapes discussed on page 37 should have been “I’m Not There (1956).” “1956” is part of the song’s title, not the date of its composition.
