The Real E-You

By Mitchel L. Galishoff

In response to Pandora's Click* (September 27, 2007)

To the Editors:

The authors David Shipley and Will Schwalbe ["Pandora's Click," NYR, September 27] caution that "on e-mail, people aren't quite themselves, they are angrier, less sympathetic, less aware...." This is indeed an optimistic view of human nature. Perhaps people are more themselves on e-mail and reveal as much for the reasons stated by the authors.
