Readers of Pico Iyer's recent essay on Peter Matthiessen's The Snow Leopard [NYR, September 25, 2008], Michael Dirda's essay on Matthiessen's Shadow Country [NYR, May 15, 2008], and Matthiessen's own essays in these pages might be interested to know about my new documentary, Peter Matthiessen: No Boundaries, which will air on PBS on Friday, April 24, at 10 PM. (Check local listings.) The film provides what I believe is a solid overview of Peter's life and work. My hope is that it will inspire new readers to seek out his wonderful books.
