Readers of Natalie Zemon Davis's careful review of Jean Starobinski's Montaigne in Motion [NYR, November 19] may be interested to know that I have also translated Professor Starobinski's Jean-Jacques Rousseau: Transparency and Obstruction, to be published by the University of Chicago Press in the spring of 1988, and that I am currently working on selected essays from L'Oeil Vivant and La Relation Critique, to be published by Harvard University Press later in 1988.
