The Right Volvo

To the Editors:
In my review of Monsen and Walter's Nationalized Companies in the December 8 issue of this review, I mentioned Volvo among the biggest European automobile makers that have come under government ownership. This was a mistake. The firm I should have referred to is Volvo Car, a Dutch subsidiary of the Swedish parent company. I am grateful to Professor Joachim Israel of Lunds University for this correction.
