Terror in Chile

By Rose Styron

In response to Terror in Chile I: The Chicago Commission Report* (May 30, 1974)

To the Editors:

Joan Jara, who identified the mutilated body of her husband, the folk singer Victor Jara, has corrected one detail of the description of his death in my article in the NYR ("Terror in Chile: The Amnesty Report," May 30). She informs me that his fingers were not, as I had been told, cut off while he played the guitar; they were smashed, the bones broken.
