In response to:

Two War Poets from the March 19, 1964 issue

To the Editors:

May 1, in justice to the fine poets I was quoting, correct three small but irritating printing errors in my review of Wilfred Owen and Keith Douglas in your March 19 number? In the first verse quotation from Owen “senoped” should, of course, be “snipes.” In the second quotation from Keith Douglas, the line

still spring in their climate, still

should be

still spring in their climate, still picked,

and the line

to find them as the great collectors before

should be

to find them as the great collectors before me.

It makes a considerable difference to the total rhythmical effect.
