Spy Story from the February 17, 1966 issue

To the Editors:

Mr. Slavitt [Letters, Feb. 17] is not a careful reader—or he doesn’t know his Bible. He refers to the “Jericho incident” described in Joshua II, 1. But I wrote about Joshua’s mission into the Land of Canaan; this episode is described in some detail in the fourth book of Moses, chapter 13. Joshua was not commander-in-chief at the time, but a mere intelligence agent. Mr. Slavitt should get his facts straight before he writes his next letter to the editors.
