To the Editors:

As a footnote to my letter [May 20] I would like to add the text of a cable from Andre Deutsch, the English publisher referred to by Mr. Manchester as the source of my alleged extravagant praise of his book as “the book of the Sixties,” etc. Mr. Deutsch has been traveling in the Far East, and I was not previously able to reach him. He now cables from Australia: Just Received Your Carbons Stop Never Said Anything Of Sort Nor Compared With Thousand Days Please Quote this Denial Writing To Editors Regards.
