To the Editors:

In view of the brutal and horrifying activities of the Chicago administration during the Democratic National Convention, we would like to urge the members of the various learned societies (e.g., the Modern Language Association and the Linguistic Society of America) which hold meetings in that city to instruct the executives of those societies not to hold further meetings in Mr. Daley’s city.
