Solidarity Meeting

To the Editors:

Your readers may be interested to know that on Saturday, February 6, 7 PM, at Town Hall, American Workers & Artists for Solidarity will be holding a meeting in support of the Polish workers’ movement.

We invite people to explore how the democratic ideas of the Solidarity movement have relevance to the situation of workers and trade unionists in the United States.

Our speakers are dissident trade unionists, sympathetic intellectuals and artists, and Solidarity activists. The list of speakers includes: Joseph Brodsky, Pete Camarata (Teamsters for a Democratic Union), Miroslav Chojecki of Solidarity, Toy Dixon (Harlan County UMWA), E.L. Doctorow, Alexander Ehrlich, Carlos Fuentes, Allen Ginsberg, Dick Gregory, Nat Hentoff, Greg Pardlo (PATCO), Ed Sadlowski (United Steelworkers), Pete Seeger, Daniel Singer, Dave Skocik (PATCO), Susan Sontag, Studs Terkel, Andrzej Tymowski, Gore Vidal, Kurt Vonnegut, Ben Zemsky (Postal Workers).
