To the Editors:

Paul Krugman will deliver the tenth annual Irving Howe Memorial Lecture on Friday, November 18, at 6:30 PM in the Elebash Recital Hall of the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue (at 34th Street). His subject is “Can the Radical Right Be Stopped?” Paul Krugman is a professor of economics and international affairs at Princeton University and an Op-Ed columnist for The New York Times. His most recent book is The Great Unraveling: Losing Our Way in the New Century. The Howe lectures honor the late critic, editor, and political writer Irving Howe (1920–1993), who taught at the City University of New York from 1963 to 1986. They are sponsored by the Center for the Humanities and made possible by a generous grant from Mr. Max Palevsky. The lectures are free and open to the public. To register for this event, please call 212-817-8215.
