From the August 18 issue: in Joshua Hammer’s “Egypt: Who Calls the Shots?,” the Cairo district of Nasr City is not named after Gamal Abdel Nasser; the name means “City of Victory” in Arabic. In Andrew Hacker’s “The Next Election: The Surprising Reality,” the average adjusted gross income of the four hundred wealthiest families in the US in 2008 was $270,510,000, on which they paid an average of $48,982,713 in income taxes. In Michael Greenberg’s review of Adam Phillips’s On Balance, “We want, we want” is a paraphrase of Eugene Henderson in Saul Bellow’s Henderson the Rain King.
