The Keep Willesden Green community group writes with the following good news:

For now, North London’s blues have been lifted as redevelopment proposals for Willesden Library have been withdrawn [see Zadie Smith, “North West London Blues,” NYR, July 12]. Thousands have objected to the loss of an historic library, bookshop, and open space. It is time for Brent Council to work with the community to reshape the plans to match the needs of North West London residents.
