The Diver

Then there was the time
I tried to learn to swim
in a deep lake,
but once in,
shot straight
to the floor,
out of sight, out of mind,
a good hour or more.

Sonnet

Love, your eyes drove through me like a blade, / Piercing my startled heart in one fell deed, / And there you settle down, there you feed, / But you alone can heal the wound you made.
