Henri Labrouste: Structure Brought to Light
MoMA’s “Henri Labrouste: Structure Brought to Light”—architecture curator Barry Bergdoll’s academically impeccable tribute to the pivotal nineteenth-century French innovator who melded late-Classical form with proto-Modern technology—exudes an air of dry worthiness akin to the “prestige” projects that socially-conscious superstars like Clooney, Pitt, and Jolie wangle out of their grateful Hollywood movie studios. But go see it for the ravishing Beaux-Arts watercolors and some of the most marvelous building models you’ll ever encounter.
MoMA is open from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and until 8 PM on Friday nights. Closed Tuesdays. For more information, please visit moma.org.
