‘Holy Motors,’ introduced by Leos Carax
To judge from its critical reception, the first Carax feature in a dozen years is everything that admirers of this raging visionary and eccentric one-time enfant terrible could wish for. As its title suggests, Holy Motors is some sort of infernal mechanism that might or might not refer to the cinema; that it’s Carax’s first digital feature suggests a machine abandoned. He’ll be on hand to explicate, or not.
This event is part of a Overdrive, a general retrospective of Carax’s work, the full schedule of which is available on the Harvard Film Archive’s website.
