‘Our Nixon’

The inadvertent self-disclosure that characterized the Nixon White House continues apace in Penny Lane’s found-footage assemblage, drawn largely from the super-8 home movies shot by the president’s three closest aides—H. R. Haldeman, John Erlichman, and Dwight Chapin. While Our Nixon mainly illustrates the banality of evil, exotic highlights include a performance of a Chinese revolutionary opera and the president heard pondering the meaning of Archie Bunker.

Opens Friday, August 30 in New York and Toronto, with other cities to follow. For a complete list of cities and theaters, see the film’s website.
