Small Press Book Club: Stefan Zweig’s “Post Office Girl”

Discuss, explore, or nod along in sympathetic agreement with Michele Filgate, at the Community Bookstore, as she heads the Small Press Book Club meeting on Stefan Zweig’s Post Office Girl. Zweig’s bleak portrayal of dashed hopes, desperation, and poverty in Post Office Girl is quite a departure from his other novels: Chess Story, Confusion, Journey into the Past, and Beware of Pity. All of which can be found in the NYRB’s classics collection.
