A new feature by Chantal Akerman is an event and New York is fortunate to have Anthology Film Archives to give her latest movie a run. Freely adapted from a Conrad novella, this purposefully anachronistic meditation on colonialism and forbidden love has as much to with the fever dreams of Murnau’s Tabu or Duras’s India Song as with its ostensible source.
Showing at 6:30 PM and 9:15 PM daily, with an additional screening at 3:45 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets available at the box office on the day of the screening.
