Britten II: A Free Live Stream

There is a wealth of string quartet music written by English composers, and this program celebrating Britten’s centennial—performed by the Escher String Quartet—includes some of the very best, ranging from the lush romantic works of Elgar to the modernist movements by Birtwistle. Frank Bridge, whose Novelletten for String Quartet will open the performance, was Britten’s tutor, and taught him privately from the age of fourteen.

This performance will be streamed live at 7:30 PM. To watch, please visit chambermusicsociety.org.
