The Cleveland Orchestra Performs at The Rite of Spring at 100
Organized by Carolina Performing Arts, The Rite of Spring at 100, an ongoing celebration of the ballet’s centennial, features twelve new works, nine world premieres, and two US premieres performed by celebrated artists from across the globe, including, among others, the Martha Graham Dance Company, Yo-Yo Ma, and Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra.
This month, the Cleveland Orchestra performs a program designed to explore the influence of Igor Stravinsky on Aaron Copland’s music, as well as each composer’s use of folk elements in his own works.
