This solo exhibition of the work of Bianca Casady, an experimental folk musician known to many as a singer and lyricist in the “freak folk” musical duo, CocoRosie (her sister, Sierra, is the other member of the group), uses drawing, collage, photograph, and videos to explore “ideas of gender and race, especially as they are played out in prison.” It is Casady’s second major solo exhibition in New York since 2007. Her next project will be a collaboration between CocoRosie and the director Robert Wilson on Peter Pan, to be performed by the Berliner Ensemble in 2013.
