Due Bassi: Virtuosic Baroque Duets for Violoncello and Viola da Gamba

Selected by Cathleen Schine

May 22, 2012, 8 pm

The program features works by Boismortier (one of the first composers not to need a patron: he was given royal permission to engrave music in 1794 and made a fortune selling it to the public), Corelli, Geminiani, Mondoville and the sublime Rameau. Lisa Terry, viola da gamba; Angela Yeung, baroque cello.

Tickets at the door only: $15 regular, $10 students and seniors. Saint Peter's Classical Concert Series generally takes place Tuesday evenings at 8:00 P.M. in the Sanctuary. The concerts feature a variety of music and musicians, mostly from New York. Concerts often feature young and emerging artists.
