‘The Dumb Girl of Portici’

Dance legend Anna Pavlova made her only movie appearance in this elaborate, silent adaption of Daniel Auber’s opera La Muette de Portici, directed with great panache by Lois Weber. The movie was made in 1916 and, long forgotten, has been recently restored.
Showing at 1 PM on October 13 and 4 PM on October 21. Tickets are free with admission to the museum.
