Thomas Nozkowski: Recent Work
February 22, 2013 – March 23, 2013
The luminous pentimento of Thomas Nozkowski’s work can make one imagine that a Renaissance master—say, Pisanello—has been reincarnated as a contemporary abstract painter. Each of these mysterious, oddly whimsical paintings appears to have been inspired by a vision, a joke, or a secret—quite possibly the secret of how much depth and complexity can be compressed onto such a small canvas.
This exhibition continues at 511 West 25th Street, with a presentation of Nozkowski’s small notebook drawings and a selection of oil paintings on paper. For more information, please visit pacegallery.com.
