Writers’ Festival

Created four years ago by Beatrice Monti della Corte, widow of the famous German-language novelist Gregor von Rezzori, the Writers’ Festival—or Festival degli Scrittori—presents each year in Florence a series of conversations, readings, lectures, and more, all designed to call attention to the most original talents in international literature today. This year’s festivities include a lecture by Michael Ondaatje on “Mongrel Art” and a conversation with Colm Tóibín. The Festival culminates on Friday the 15th with the presentation of the Gregor von Rezzori Award for the best work of foreign fiction published in Italy.

The Writers’ Festival takes place in Florence on June 13, 14, and 15. A complete schedule is available online at http://www.premiovonrezzori.org
