John Springs Gallery


John Springs, a native of Yorkshire, England, has spent his adult life as a professional caricature artist, creating comic portraits of political and literary personages in pen and ink and oil on canvas.

His work has appeared in Time, Vogue, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The Tatler, and The Sunday Times, among many other publications. His work has been widely exhibited, including shows at London's National Theatre, The Victoria and Albert Museum, Wolfson College Oxford, the Chelsea Arts Club, and the Cartoon Gallery.

In 2004, Springs was named caricaturist of the year at the 10th Annual Cartoon Art Trust Awards and was given a certificate of merit by the Society of Illustrators for his work in Rolling Stone.

Springs, who lives and works in Chelsea, London, is a member of The Chelsea Arts Club and is a self-proclaimed tobogganing enthusiast.
