The Albertine Book Club Reads ‘The End of Eddy’
The Albertine Prize is an annual reader’s choice award for best French fiction in English. On February 13, Cécile David Weill and Caroline Weber moderate a group discussion of Edouard Louis’s The End of Eddy, translated from the French by Michael Lucey, one of the books shortlisted for the prize in 2018. In his review in our July 13, 2017 issue, Colm Tóibín praised the novel’s “urgency and honesty in its tone as it attempts to shatter the image of French refined manners and social equilibrium.”
