Events for Daniel Mendelsohn’s “An Odyssey”
Daniel Mendelsohn’s An Odyssey: A Father, A Son, and an Epic centers on an Odyssey seminar that Mendelsohn teaches to a class of college students and his auditing father. “The paternally augmented seminar,” writes Peter Green, “and the Odyssey-related Mediterranean cruise that father and son took shortly after it, turned out to be an unexpected, and revealing, success. In particular, they stimulated exploration, via Homer, of the timeless elements of family relationships down through the generations.”
On March 1, at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, Mendelsohn will discuss An Odyssey with Ted Altschuler, director of the Center. 6pm. For more information, visit baruch.cuny.edu.
On March 5, Daniel Mendelsohn will read from and sign copies of his book at the National Arts Club. 8pm. For more information, visit nationalartsclub.org.
