Laila Lalami in conversation with Tom Lutz
Laila Lalami’s The Moor’s Account is a grave and sober historical novel about the Spanish exploration of North America, as seen through the eyes of an Arab slave who, along with the chronicler Cabeza de Vaca, was one of the few survivors of a 1527 expedition to what’s now called Florida. Earlier this year it was named a Pulitzer finalist. The Moroccan-born writer appears in conversation with the critic Tom Lutz at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena on August 20.
