Stig Dagerman’s ‘Marty’s Shadow’

Marty’s Shadow, a play by Swedish writer Stig Dagerman, is a Hitchcockian tale of a scarred family of the French resistance, inspired by the real life story of Austrian Jewish refugee, Etta Federn. Directed by Whitney Gail Aronson and translated and produced by Nancy Pick with Lo Dagerman, the play will be performed at the August Strindberg Rep throughout the month. On March 21 at Scandinavia House there will be a panel discussion about Marty’s Shadow titled “Heroes, War & the Monster Mother.”
