‘Women Poets of the Village’: A Candlelight Reading at the Cherry Lane Theatre
On Monday, March 26 April Bernard, a regular contributor to the New York Review, will join Stephanie Berger, Elaine Equi, Angelina Fiordellisi, Diana Goetsch, Marie Howe, Deborah Landau, Elizabeth Macklin, Terese Svoboda, and Kathleen Widdoes at Commerce Street’s Cherry Lane Theatre for a candlelit celebration of the female poets who lived and worked in the Village, including Audre Lorde, Marianne Moore, and the theater’s cofounder Edna St. Vincent Millay. This event is sponsored by GVSHP, the Poetry Society of America, The New School Creative Writing Program, and The Poetry Brothel.
