I choked my frog on human crumbs.
My mother fainted when she saw
a toadstool growing from my thumb
and would not let me out of doors.
I drowned lead soldiers in the sink.
My parents fought a war downstairs.
My father lost me with a wink,
and gray pushed out his chocolate hair.
I found the toilet much too late
and stole away on roller skates,
hoping to find a cheaper law
behind the penny candy store.
I have the honor, love, to be
your animal, but will not please.
