Marshall Sahlins

Marshall Sahlins was professor of anthropology at the University of Chicago, and the author of Stone Age Economics (1972) and The Enchanted Universe: An Anthropology of Most of Humanity. A co-founder and former executive publisher of Prickly Paradigm Press, he also authored under its imprint The Western Illusion of Human Nature (2008) and What the Foucault? (2018).

David Graeber, 1961–2020

David Graeber, the anthropologist and activist, died aged fifty-nine on September 2, 2020. The New York Review, to which he began contributing last year, is collecting tributes from his friends and colleagues.
