A Summer of Madness from the September 25, 2008 issue

To the Editors:

Your piece by Oliver Sacks on Hurry Down Sunshine [ NYR, September 25] was luminous in its insight, and showed all the more why he deserved the recent honor conferred on him by the Committee of Small Body Nomenclature of the International Astronomical Union, which has named a small asteroid after him. Asteroid 84928 is now known as Oliversacks.
